The august of last year saw the release of Chase: Cold Case Investigations, a game made by the former members of Cing, the team behind the DS classics Hotel Dusk: Room 215 and Another Code: Two Memories (known as Trace Memory in the NA). Hotel Dusk: Room 215a is a point-and-click adventure game for the Nintendo. He's a salesman, but also helps his boss Ed find things that don't want to be found. When I started Last Window, I noticed right away that Kyle seems like a different character from the first game: Right out the gate, hes yelling at Dylan and seems like kind of a caricature of himself. So, I decided to go back and replay Hotel Dusk and Last window back to back. Being an ex-cop, Hyde now works for a company named Red Crown. Hotel Dusk, Last Window and Martin Summer. It had a really intriguing plot, some interesting characters, and some of the most creative uses I’ve ever seen of the DS’ two screens and touch functionality (you actually close the DS to give a girl CPR: Tell me that’s not cool!). The story is concerned with one Kyle Hyde, a former officer of the NYPD who resigned following an incident which resulted in the shooting of his partner, Brian Bradley. The game asked players to talk with the other residents at the hotel, interrogate them to find out how they were potentially connected to what was going on, and try to piece the growing puzzle together – and find out what it had to do with Kyle’s former partner, Bradley. Set in the year 1979, Hotel Dusk followed former NYPD detective Kyle Hyde – now a traveling salesman – as he checked into the eponymous hotel and soon found himself at the center of a mystery.
